New Areca RAID-Controllers with dual core RAID-on-Chip available

With the ARC-1882 series the German areca distibutor starline Computer GmbH represents the new generation of Areca 6Gbit/s SAS RAID-Ccontrollers. These now offer a Dual Core RAID-on-chip at 800MHz and DDR3-1333 SDRAM with ECC for high performance and faster rebuild.

ARC-1882 family

The ARC-1882ix-12/-16/-24 models have a DIMM socket that is equipped with a 1GB DDR3-1333 RAM (up to 4GB). The low-profile models ARC-1882i, 1882x ARC and ARC-1882LP are equipped with 1GB DDR3-1333 on-board RAM and are ideal for installation in servers with 1 or 2 units.

The ARC-1882 RAID-Controller family supports up to 128 SAS / SATA HDDs / SSDs on a single adapter using SAS expanders.

The Areca RAID controllers are ideal for file servers, audio/video applications, image processing, cloud computing, database applications and more suitable. They are running on Windows 7/Vista/XP/2008/2003, MAC OS X, Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris.

For high data security they are provided with RAID Level 6 - at the same time as the two hard drives can fail without data loss. The redundant controller flash EPROM also increases the reliability during firmware upgrade. Changes and firmware upgrades can be made via the RS-232 or LAN port.
