32 Gbit/s FC-Modell von RAIDdeluxe erhält VMware-Zertifizierung

Solide FC Technik für VMware zertifiziert

In the robust budget series RAIDdeluxe from Starline Computer, the 24-unit RAID system RDL-CD24F32Q-R2, the first 32 Gbps FC model from the VMware series, has also been released for the ESXi 7.0 U1 hypervisor.

Starline’s own brand RAIDdeluxe was already certified for VMware vSphere 7 with its 8 and 16 Gbps Fibre Channel models – with up to 64 drives and optionally with dual (CD) as well as single (CS) RAID controllers. Now the RAID system with the 32 Gbit/s fast FC host board has also followed suit: The 2U rackmount system with its 24 SFF drive bays can now boast itself as “VMware ready” from vSphere version 6.7 upwards.

The re-certification became necessary because the RDL-CD24 series can now also accommodate two fast 32G FC Quad host boards. They are then available via 8x 32 Gbps Fibre Channel host ports in the SAN. The central control, however, is provided by two proven Areca controllers, which are designed as high-performance Dual Core ROC.

Via this controller they provide the data of the 24 built-in SSDs or HDDs with SAS or SATA interface. The controllers are even capable of managing up to 512 drives. For this purpose, the RAID system RDL-CD24F32Q-R2 has a 12 Gbps miniSAS HD expansion port to which a corresponding number of JBODs can be connected.
