Two new Certified Engineers for Open-E JovianDSS
We have now expanded the number of OECEs at Starline to six specialists.
Two of our technical employees - Kevin Fietz and Manuel Schöberl - have successfully completed the Open-E Certified Engineer (OECE) training for the JovianDSS storage operating system.
The Open-E Certified Engineer certification confirms that they can work efficiently with Open-E software. This applies in particular to backups, replication, snapshots and failover. Technicians with an OECE certificate can therefore easily implement JovianDSS in an IT environment, have a comprehensive knowledge base and are able to effectively support end customers.
The following course contents were taught in detail:
- Functions and data storage technologies of Open-E JovianDSS
- Data integrity, storage arrays and redundancy levels
- Tiered storage and hardware components
- Open-E On- & Offsite data backup
- iSCSI and Fibre Channel high availability clusters
- Monitoring of JovianDSS with Check_MK,
- Recognising problems and providing support
