An expired leasing contract and many good experiences with Starline Computer GmbH made IT security officer Udo Eberle from GUS ERP GmbH approach our sales experts. According to Mr. Eberle's rule of thumb, the storage capacity of the existing system had to be doubled at the end of the lease. The sale team then got in touch with our key account specialists - our Enterprise Storage Solutions Team - to prepare a comprehensive quote for Mr. Eberle. The evolving concept includes five of our Z50 servers accessing Infortrend's 80TB of shared all-flash storage via fast Cisco switches.
Backup is provided by another Z50 server, which replicates the main local systems outside the data center via a 400 Mbit line.

This draft received general approval on the part of GUS ERP GmbH, especially since the competitive offer of a global player even brought the double price to light. Thus Starline were in contention. And after just a few days, Starline's employees were able to put together the complete package. Production built the servers, installed VMware, and finally configured the 24-core servers for use in the data center.
Together with the technical department, the Infortrend storage system and the 32 Gb Fibre Channel switches from Cisco were then pre-adjusted. In this way, they ensured that everything would go smoothly on the deadline.
Conclusion
According to Mr. Eberle, the integration of the ordered hardware was actually done in no time. The storage system was online after just half an hour, and the rackmount servers didn't take much longer either. Thanks to a successful coordination and the preliminary work of both parties, the installation even succeeded without those responsible having to sacrifice their weekend for it.
As a specialist for web-based solutions for enterprise resource planning, GUS ERP GmbH now not only has sufficient resources for its own employees, but can also easily handle the increased project load: In the future, each of their customers will receive a separate VM as their own development environment.
