ATTO presents first Thunderbolt 5 products

New adapters for ultra-fast media workflows with 80Gbps

With the new ThunderLink TLFC-5642 and TLNS-5102 adapters, ATTO is launching the next generation of high-speed connections via Thunderbolt 5. Suitable for 8K productions and cloud workflows, the devices offer double the bandwidth and are specifically designed for professional media applications.

ThunderLink-Adapters

Partner ATTO was one of the first providers of network and storage solutions to present two new Thunderbolt 5 adapters at the NAB Show 2025:

  1. ThunderLink TLFC-5642 with dual 64Gb Fibre Channel
  2. ThunderLink TLNS-5102 with dual 100Gb Ethernet

Both models double the bandwidth compared to their predecessors and are optimized for demanding media and entertainment workflows on Thunderbolt 5-enabled devices, especially for Apple Macintosh.

FC model: ATTO ThunderLink TLFC-5642

The ThunderLink TLFC-5642 enables massive bandwidth for real-time 8K video access in shared storage environments (SANs) through its two 64Gbps Fibre Channel ports. The ultra-low latency ensures seamless playback and editing of uncompressed 4K/8K material in multi-user setups. In combination with macOS and ATTO MultiPath Director, it offers optimized SAN support for Apple-based studios.

Ethernet model: ATTO ThunderLink TLNS-5102

The ThunderLink TLNS-5102 leverages the massive bandwidth of Thunderbolt 5 to connect devices to 100Gb Ethernet networks and accelerate IP-based workflows. It enables fast file transfers for post-production, facilitates cloud collaboration with low latency and QSFP28 connectivity, and delivers professional performance with ATTO 360 networking, RDMA (Windows and Linux only) and advanced offloads (RSS, TSS).

Equipment and availability

Both adapters are designed for professional use with Thunderbolt 5 workstations and laptops such as the MacBook Pro and Mac Studio. They offer features such as ATTO 360 networking software for pre-configured profiles and real-time diagnostics via ATTOview, as well as driver support for Windows, Linux and macOS.

The TLFC-5642 (TLFC-5642-D00) and NS 5102 (TLNS-5102-D00) models will soon be available from Starline. They will be supplied with LC SFP+ and QSFP28 transceivers respectively. Both models are of course backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4.
