The 1686 series controllers have an ARM A15 dual-core processor built in, which the developers have created as a RAID on Chip (ROC) controller. With eight lanes on the PCIe Gen 4.0 bus, the ARC-1686 models provide higher levels of performance for SATA, SAS and NVMe drives.

The ultra-fast, reliable and ultra-compact RAID controller family is designed to enable enterprises to tackle high-speed data acquisition and processing.

The low-profile ARC-1686-8X model also fits into small server chassis and offers 8 external ports. It supports RAID levels 0, 1 (single/multi mirroring), 10, single disk (single/dual/triple) or JBOD.
