This iSCSI-to-SAS adapter connects individual tape drives - without servers - to the Ethernet over long distances. For example, it allows remote sharing of SAS tape drives via 10GbE Ethernet networks. The highlight: the sophisticated box achieves these services at a lower cost and at a higher speed than a comparable solution with separate servers.
Compared to native Ethernet band devices, this solution is also more cost-effective, as the administrator requires fewer switch ports overall. It is also more efficient, as power, cooling and cabling requirements can be reduced.
