Mellanox's Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cable provides a low-cost, high-speed alternative to fiber optic cables for 100 Gbps Ethernet applications. The passive copper cable consists of four high-speed wire pairs, each operating at data rates of up to 25 GbE. Each QSFP28 connector contains an EEPROM with product information that can be read by the host system.
