Free backup server function for Infortrend GS, GSe and GSe Pro
Infortrend has updated its unified storage families EonStor GS, EonStor GSe and EonStor GSe Pro with the Backup Server function. It reduces backup costs and offers a flexible backup strategy.
With the Backup Server feature, you can implement backups for your data from various sources, including public cloud (S3-compatible), file servers (CIFS/NFS protocol) and user PCs with Windows or Mac operating systems.
Save costs with the backup server function
You can save costs by installing and using Infortrend's Backup Server application to back up your organisation's files from the cloud, file servers and PCs. The Backup Server feature is free, while third-party software is usually billed by data volume or number of sources.
For use cases such as VM or database backup, third-party software may still be required.
Selecting a backup strategy
The backup server function allows various strategies:
- Full backup - back up all data records every time
- Incremental backup - back up only the data that has changed since the last backup
- Differential backup - back up data that has changed since the last full backupSelecting a backup strategy
