High density storage on 4U from Infortrend

Petabytes in unified storage and JBOD model

90-Bay GS System and 90-Bay JBOD from Infortrend

The demand for digital media is continuously increasing both in number and size. Infortrend meets this increase in storage demand with the new models, which are particularly compact: With 90 bays in the now largest GS systems (EonStor GS 4090 & GS 3090), there is space for almost 2 petabytes. And even existing systems can be expanded to the same size via the also new JBOD model (JB 3090).

These 4U models increase both storage capacity and density. This reduces space requirements and consequently also the total cost of ownership. In detail, up to 1.8 PB of storage can be provided in a 4U 90-bay form factor - in combination with a 4U 90-bay JBOD, the storage capacity doubles to an incredible 3.6 PB with a rack space requirement of only eight height units. In full configuration, a system like this manages no less than 70 PB.

I/O optimised as well

But what use is the biggest fuel tank if there is only a drip at the inlet and outlet? Correct: nothing. That's why Infortrend has also expanded the interfaces: The GS solutions therefore have redundant dual controllers that support 100 GbE Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) with a continuous write performance of up to 12 GB/s per port.

To precisely balance performance and storage capacity, the system allows four low-latency U.2 NVMe SSDs to be installed as cache. Thus, the developers improve the input/output performance (IOPS) by buffering frequently accessed data on SSDs. The result: read and write performance also increases considerably.

With the new models, Infotrend is continuously expanding the series and now offers a new flagship model in addition to the largest 40- and 60-bay models. The very large designs in particular are urgently needed for high-performance computing (HPC) and in 4K/8K post-production.

These high-density storages thus meet the need for modern enterprises to absorb large file volumes and manage data growth. At the same time, they save space in the data centre and thus reduce costs.

You will soon be able to purchase the new 90-bay models here via the shop.
