Infortrend Edge AI servers without complex setup
Infortrend KS Series: Edge AI for SMBs—local, highly available, and ready to use
With the KS series, Infortrend is positioning a new class of edge AI servers specifically designed for medium-sized businesses and distributed locations.
Its current representative, the KS 3000U, addresses a key problem facing modern AI infrastructures: increasing latency, high cloud costs, and data protection risks associated with centralized workloads.
According to IDC, by 2030, around 50% of all AI inference processes will take place directly at the network edge. Infortrend is positioning the KS series for precisely this scenario.

Technical architecture
The KS 3000U combines compute, storage, operating system, and container management in a single appliance. The platform is ready to use in less than 30 minutes and supports a 2-node cluster with automatic failover, allowing it to be operated even at locations without IT personnel.
At its core, the server runs on AMD EPYC 8004 processors, up to two GPUs (e.g., NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q), and low-latency NVMe SSDs. The compact 2U design with a depth of only 50 cm is optimized for edge racks; the KSa 3004UE variant is also designed for noise-sensitive environments, such as open-plan offices.
Conclusion
The KS series is not a traditional server platform, but rather a ready-to-use edge AI infrastructure. It reduces complexity, lowers operating costs, and brings AI to where data is generated—in real time, fail-safe, and without cloud dependency.
