Back up logs under TrueNAS CORE

Log files are important protocols to keep.

Navigate to the System section: On the left sidebar you will find an overview of the different sections of TrueNAS CORE. Click on the "System" section.

Switch to the "Advanced" tab: In the system area you will see several subtabs like "General", "NTP Servers", Click on the "Advanced" tab.

Look for the "SAVE DEBUG" button: In the "Advanced" section you should see various options and settings. Here you should now see the "SAVE DEBUG" button.

Download logs:

  1. Click on the "SAVE DEBUG" button.
  2. TrueNAS will now collect all system information and logs and compress them into a single file.
  3. After the process is complete, you should be prompted to download a file with the extension ".tgz". This is the debug archive.
