For high performance computing (HPC), HA storage arrays and mixed workloads, the NVMe SSDs from Western Digital's Ultrastar DC SN840 family are particularly suitable. Featuring fast 96-layer BiCS4 3D TLC NANDs, the disks already have WD's new NVMe 1.3c controller built in. In the SFF enclosure, the 15.36 TB disks deliver 3,472 MB/s via dual-port PCIe Gen 3.11 x4 interface and achieve I/O performance of up to 780,000 IOPS.
