As an operating system-independent storage system, installation is possible without additional software or drivers. To ensure the necessary security of the data stored on it, it supports RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk, and JBOD (the 4-bay models do not include RAID levels 30, 50, or 60). Areca's ARC-8042-12 provides large capacities in a small footprint as a SAS-to-SAS desktop RAID subsystem. Up to 12 Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) drives at 12 Gbps or 12 Serial ATA (SATA) drives at 6.0 Gbps can be accommodated in this external storage enclosure. The high-performance dual-core ROC processor, 2GB RAM memory architecture and 12 Gbit/s SAS technology ensure high performance in the workflow.
