New EonStor GSx series from Infortrend

With the EonStor GSx series, Infortrend launches parallel file storage for demanding AI and HPC projects.

EonStor GSx series from Infortrend

Maximum performance through parallel file access

The EonStor GSx series enables parallel file access by distributing large files across multiple appliances. This leads to a significant increase in data processing performance. A single GSx system achieves a read speed of up to 43 GB/s and a write speed of 16.5 GB/s.

By combining up to ten GSx units in a cluster, performance can be scaled almost linearly up to tenfold, effectively eliminating bottlenecks.

Scalability and easy expansion

GSx offers an easy way to increase performance by adding more appliances. U.2 NVMe all-flash models are available for applications with high performance requirements, while SAS HDD models are suitable for large storage capacities.

The GSx series supports both scale-out and scale-up expansion, allowing organizations to flexibly adapt their storage infrastructure to ever-increasing data volumes.

EonStor GSx administration provides a simple overview

Simplified IT architecture and administration

In contrast to conventional parallel file systems, which require separate metadata servers and I/O nodes, GSx integrates these functions directly into the respective appliances. This reduces hardware requirements and simplifies the IT infrastructure.

The web-based management software EonOne enables centralized management of multiple GSx systems, including performance monitoring and capacity management, via an intuitive user interface.

Efficient use of storage resources

The GSx series supports SSD caching in SAS HDD models. There, metadata and small files are stored on SSDs to speed up access to frequently used data. This also improves I/O performance, especially for applications with high data access requirements.

 Efficient hardware

Comprehensive data protection and recovery

GSx offers robust data protection mechanisms, including RAID 5/6 technology to protect against drive failures. In addition, the remote replication function enables data to be backed up at remote locations to ensure effective recovery in the event of a disaster.

Compatibility and integration

The GSx series is compatible with common operating systems such as Linux and Windows. It naturally supports parallel file access via corresponding client agents. This facilitates integration into existing IT environments and eliminates the need for additional parallel file system software.

With the EonStor GSx series, Infortrend offers a future-proof storage solution that meets the increasing requirements of HPC and AI applications. With high performance, scalability and easy management, GSx enables companies to organize their data processing efficiently and flexibly.
