The sophisticated storage box masters four transfer standards via a single port: USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen1, USB 3.2 Gen2 and Thunderbolt 3. This allows the affordable Compact Tower to achieve between 480 Mbit/s and 10 Gbit/s, depending on the host connection. The compact system achieves the high transfer rate because it can be equipped with fast SAS disks (12 Gbit/s) on the drive side. However, cheaper SATA HDDs as well as SSDs can of course also be installed in the six "hot swap"-capable slots. As an operating system-independent storage system, installation is possible without additional software or drivers. For the necessary security of the data stored on it, it supports RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 1E, 3, 5, 6, single disk or JBOD. In addition, the ARC-8050U3 can be optionally equipped with a battery backup module. This protects the data in the cache memory in the event of an unexpected power failure. Its controller-level ROC hardware encryption manages all types of drives without affecting their performance.
