This iSCSI-to-SAS adapter connects individual tape drives - without servers - to the Ethernet over long distances. For example, it allows remote sharing of SAS tape drives via 10GbE Ethernet networks. The highlight: the sophisticated box achieves these services at a lower cost and at a higher speed than a comparable solution with separate servers.
Compared to native Ethernet band devices, this solution is also more cost-effective, as the administrator requires fewer switch ports overall. It is also more efficient, as power, cooling and cabling requirements can be reduced.
SAS storage with flexibility
SAS also supports operation through an expander, allowing you to cascade up to 128 endpoints over a single SAS cable. Even greater capacity is possible with an intermediate fan-out expander. Cable aggregation and dual porting further simplify management and boost system performance.
