As a scale-out NAS platform, the EonStor CS line can reach read/write speeds of up to 100 Gbit/s and more than 100 PB of capacity simply by adding additional nodes to the cluster. In other words, it’s ready to satisfy tomorrow’s data-growth demands as easily as today’s.

Special algorithms use auto-balancing to distribute data evenly across every node in the system. When many users access data at the same time, the system divides the workload through parallel processing. This eliminates performance bottlenecks on individual nodes and markedly improves access efficiency.
Extra safeguards for vital data
To protect ultra-critical information, Infortrend’s EonStor CS line supports both SED (Self-Encrypting Drives) and WORM (Write Once, Read Many). SEDs shield sensitive data from hackers and malware by automatically performing full-disk encryption whenever a write operation occurs, using the drive’s embedded key; the data are transparently decrypted again on every read.

WORM is especially valuable for organizations with stringent data-archiving requirements. With this cost-effective method, archived data cannot be deleted, altered, overwritten, or corrupted after it is written.
