SAS RAID controllers from Areca's ARC-1883 family support up to 512 SAS/SATA devices at 12 Gbps on a single adapter (via a SAS expander). They have been equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core ROC processor, DDR3-1866 memory architecture, and PCIe 3.0 to handle the most power-hungry data center and IT applications. The ARC-1883i, ARC-1883LP and ARC-1883x models come in a low-profile format for low profile chassis variants and each have eight ports installed (internal, external and both). The ix sub-family - in full height - brings four external mini-SAS-HD ports in addition to their 12/16/24 internal ports.However, they share their advanced technology that enables increased performance and enhanced protection of enterprise data. This makes them ideal as file servers, web servers, supercomputers, NAS, near-line backup, streaming, aplication servers (audio, video) and for security-related systems.
