In its fourth generation, Areca's new ARC-1886 family impresses with increased performance and enhanced protection of corporate data. The RAID controllers in this series have been equipped with a 1.6 GHz dual-core ROC processor, have eight gigabytes of DDR4-2666 memory and work exceptionally effectively on the fast PCIe 4.0 bus. With their flexible range of applications - they offer storage interfaces to 12 Gbps SAS and SATA as well as PCIe (NVMe) - the tri-mode adapters are the ideal solution for the most performance-hungry database and IT applications.
The top model ARC-1886-6N2I also has six M.2 slots (suitable for 2280 and 22110 SSDs) on the board and comes with two additional SATA ports. In operation, the adapter then accesses the data of the NVMe disk array with a preset workload value. The highlight: as long as it falls below the workload of the preset value, the RAID adapter permanently backs up the data of its own NVMe disk array to docked hard disk arrays via SAS/SATA ports.
