Infortrend JB300 JBODs

Redundant reliability at SAS speed

Maximum expansion — top-tier performance

JBODs from Infortrend’s JB300 series let you add generous storage to your network in no time, giving your servers room to grow without occupying much physical space—thanks to high-density design. A per-lane speed of 12 Gbit/s SAS delivers the bandwidth and reliability you expect in the enterprise.

Infortrend’s user-friendly 19-inch enclosures pair seamlessly with the host-bus adapters (HBAs) and RAID controllers in our portfolio, providing connected servers with high throughput via highly available, direct-attached storage. Well-engineered drive trays offer true plug-and-play convenience; each controller supplies up to two Mini-SAS HD ports (SFF-8644).

Available in single- or dual-controller configurations and multiple form factors, these expansion units give you fast, consistent access to large pools of storage while keeping complexity low—and they meet tight budgets while maintaining redundant paths to every drive.

  • Broad chassis lineup with 12 – 60 drives in 2 U – 4 U
  • Sturdy build allows hot-swap of drives, controllers, and 80 PLUS power supplies
  • When paired with an HBA or RAID controller, a single JB300 can manage hundreds of drives

Note on Infortrend nomenclature

The JB300 series can be controlled by different servers via HBA. JBODs with four-digit type designations have been specially designed by developers for expanding Infrotrend RAID systems.

Infortrend JBODs with intelligent layout

High-density 60-bay models (4 U)

  • JB360L: four vertical rows of 15 drives (top-loading)
  • JB360: three front-pull drawers, each holding 20 vertically mounted drives for one-hand access and easy replacement

Both versions share two redundant 80 PLUS power supplies—1600 W or 1200 W. The high-efficiency PSUs reduce operating costs, while intelligent, load-adaptive fans optimize cooling, increase efficiency, and keep noise levels low.

FAQ - Storage

Here you will find the most important questions about our storage solutions.

Why is a local (“on-premise”) storage system so important despite the cloud?

For highly critical or latency-sensitive workloads in particular, outsourcing to the cloud alone is often not enough. A local system provides the necessary speed and control: the data remains in your company, which enables fast, synchronous processing and a high standard of security. For example, you can run time-critical applications smoothly and at the same time benefit from the advantages of the cloud for backup or archiving.

Which storage systems are suitable for my company?

We offer solutions from small SMEs to large enterprise operations. Whether you need a compact RAID system for a few terabytes, a high-availability NAS for multiple locations or a JBOD to expand capacity with hundreds of drives, our experts can help you make the right choice and offer a wide range of form factors, protocols and equipment variants.

How does Starline ensure reliable data security?

Our storage systems are state of the art. The stored data is then protected in various ways: this can be RAID technologies, modern file systems such as ZFS, erasure coding, replication, snapshots and/or encryption options. Our industrial grade hardware is assembled in Kirchheim and tested in a burn-in test. This is how we guarantee a long service life for your storage systems.

Can JBODs be added to my existing storage setup?

Absolutely. Many of our systems have a modular design so that you can easily add more drives via JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) expansions. This allows you to flexibly adapt the capacity to growing data volumes at any time without having to purchase a completely new solution.

How does Starline provide support during and after installation?

We support you throughout the entire life cycle of your storage system - from the initial consultation to installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Our technicians are always available on weekdays; we also offer a 24x7x4 service on request. We also support you with customs and financing issues and take care of firmware updates and any special requests.
