The entry-level Areca RAID controller is equipped with integrated storage processors that enable true hardware RAID. It has its own local RAID processor and a dedicated onboard cache to handle all RAID processing on a hardware basis.

The NVMe RAID adapter also has a powerful 1066 MHz memory processor, DDR3-1066 memory architecture and two PCIe 2.0 x1 M.2 ports (suitable for 2280 and 22110 SSDs). It therefore supports 512 MB DDR3-1066 SDRAM memory as standard. As a 2-port M.2 NVMe RAID solution for desktop servers and workstations, the ARC-1203-2N offers fully functional hardware RAID. The ability of hardware RAID controllers to recover an array in the event of a hard drive failure is far superior to that of software RAID controllers.

The 1686 series controllers have an ARM A15 dual-core processor built in, which the developers have created as a RAID on Chip (ROC) controller. With eight lanes on the PCIe Gen 4.0 bus, the ARC-1686 models provide higher levels of performance for SATA, SAS and NVMe drives.

The ultra-fast, reliable and ultra-compact RAID controller family is designed to enable enterprises to tackle high-speed data acquisition and processing.

The low-profile ARC-1686-8I model fits into small server chassis and provides 8 internal ports. It supports RAID levels 0, 1 (single/multi mirroring), 10, single disk (single/dual/triple) or JBOD.

GRAID SupremeRAID provides the maximum available SSD performance for your data center as an NVMe RAID card. This enables record-breaking NVMe SSD or NVMeoF performance over RAID without compromising data security or business continuity.

This breakthrough solution finally eliminates the traditional performance bottleneck of traditional RAID cards when combined with NVMe SSDs. It is also the first NVMeoF RAID solution: so it protects not only directly attached SSDs, but also those connected to the server via a JBOF (NVMe over Fabrics).

The GRAID SupremeRAID SR-1000 PCIe 3.0 adapter delivers lightning-fast SSD performance in AI-accelerated compute, AFA, and HPC applications.

Combining GPU and SSD performance

GPU-accelerated technology lets servers reach entirely new performance peaks. Administrators can reserve CPU resources for applications while the controller handles all I/O processing and RAID calculations. The result: higher productivity at lower cost.

RAID modes are selected easily from the command line, and NVIDIA GPUs execute the reconfiguration in seconds.

NVMe SSDs simply slot into the NVMe enclosure—no internal cabling to the RAID controller needed. Every drive communicates directly with the system over the PCIe bus.

  • Unleashed NVMe performance
  • Minimal cabling
  • Exceptionally high IOPS
  • Frees up CPU resources

FAQ - Storage

Here you will find the most important questions about our storage solutions.

Why is a local (“on-premise”) storage system so important despite the cloud?

For highly critical or latency-sensitive workloads in particular, outsourcing to the cloud alone is often not enough. A local system provides the necessary speed and control: the data remains in your company, which enables fast, synchronous processing and a high standard of security. For example, you can run time-critical applications smoothly and at the same time benefit from the advantages of the cloud for backup or archiving.

Which storage systems are suitable for my company?

We offer solutions from small SMEs to large enterprise operations. Whether you need a compact RAID system for a few terabytes, a high-availability NAS for multiple locations or a JBOD to expand capacity with hundreds of drives, our experts can help you make the right choice and offer a wide range of form factors, protocols and equipment variants.

How does Starline ensure reliable data security?

Our storage systems are state of the art. The stored data is then protected in various ways: this can be RAID technologies, modern file systems such as ZFS, erasure coding, replication, snapshots and/or encryption options. Our industrial grade hardware is assembled in Kirchheim and tested in a burn-in test. This is how we guarantee a long service life for your storage systems.

Can JBODs be added to my existing storage setup?

Absolutely. Many of our systems have a modular design so that you can easily add more drives via JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) expansions. This allows you to flexibly adapt the capacity to growing data volumes at any time without having to purchase a completely new solution.

How does Starline provide support during and after installation?

We support you throughout the entire life cycle of your storage system - from the initial consultation to installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Our technicians are always available on weekdays; we also offer a 24x7x4 service on request. We also support you with customs and financing issues and take care of firmware updates and any special requests.
