Backup media
Offline protection for secure enterprise archives
Extra offline security with removable backup media
Need stronger protection for legacy data? Removable backup media provide the answer.
Neglecting backups gambles with your company’s future. More than a few firms have paid a steep price after losing archives or customer databases. Relying on a RAID array alone is not enough—it guards primarily against drive failures, not against data-corrupting events or malicious attacks.

Fujifilm's reliable storage cartridges in LTO (Linear Tape Open) technology enable a smooth process when changing tapes and reduce the risk of data loss to a minimum. The tapes coated in the NANOCUBIC thin-film process store and archive large amounts of data permanently and thus securely.

Security through backup media
Backup media form the last line of defense against a broad spectrum of threats—malware and ransomware, catastrophic hardware or software failure, even natural disasters such as lightning strikes or flooding. Most of these media are high-capacity, removable carriers that remain offline when not in use—and that is precisely their strength.
Magnetic tapes, for example, are written on a regular cycle and then vaulted for long-term retention. Data stored offline in this way cannot be infected or encrypted by malicious code. When required, the cartridges are simply retrieved from the safe and restored.
Starline supports several proven backup-media strategies, allowing you to choose the offline architecture that best matches your risk profile and retention policies.
Starline benefits
Experienced and trained technicians do performance and functional checks and offer quick help in case of failure.
We know which components work together because we test the connectivity extensively in advance.
Starline has been active in the sector since 1982 and is a specialist in all aspects of data storage.
